The investigation indicates that job stress results from various adverse situations, such as role ambiguity, non-participative management, intrinsic impoverishment, poor working environment, and lack of opportunity for growth and advancement at the workplace. The study drew from a range of published sources, both quantitative and qualitative, for framing the conceptual review. The keywords were antecedents of anxiety, stress outcomes, factors leading to stress, stress management, and job satisfaction for the literature search. This chapter purports to identify the various factors contributing to occupational stress in today's business scenario and analyses how occupational stress influences employees' job performance.
